The first is "The Skirmish". A skirmisher is a light infantry or cavalry soldier sent ahead or to the sides of a main army to harass the enemy, scout positions, and disrupt attacks.

The 18th Annual Civil War Weekend At The Grange included some friendly competition. The standard for an musket firing infantryman was three rounds in one minute. This competition then was WHO could get off THREE shots the fastest. It was Mano A Mano as well as North versus South.

It is the second scheduled clash of the day. Given the forecast of rain on Sunday it is the final battle of the year.

Here is our "official" video of our 18th Annual Civil War Weekend held at the Grange in Sayville, Long Island. This clip includes a Recruiting Scenario scripted by our Sgt. Richard Coleman

Living History at Gettysburg National Park

Gettysburg, PA

August 22 - 23, 2026

After 14 years, the 67th NY returned to Gettysburg National Park's living history program. Our host and director of the program, NPS Ranger Matt Atkinson, placed us at the Spangler's Spring demo area as our original regiment fought on Culp's Hill just up the road. We were joined by four members of the 104th Pennsylvania and while we did have a brief yet powerful storm on Saturday night, we couldn't have asked for better weather for late August with temps never getting above 80F. Hopefully, Ranger Atkinson will have us back next year.
