Year in Review
We entered our 28th season as members of the newly formed Army Of The Rappahannock under the command of Colonel Chuck Young. Started things of with the traditional march in the Westhampton Beach St. Patrick's Day Parade and in May we returned to the Bald Hill Schoolhouse hosted by the 9th Virginia. We had two school programs this season at East Northport Middle School and William Floyd Middle School and in June we drove upstate for our first battalion meetup, the Delhi Civil War Event, hosted by the 118th New York. As for our 'Home on the Grange' we perfomed the Living History Day in June followed by the grander production, the 16th Annual Civil War Weekend at the Grange, in September. Fortunatley, the weather cooperated for the latter and the Longwood Estate the following weekend. We tried out something new, the Fall Festival at Sagtikos Manor, in October where we performed as Victorian funeral march. And after five years we returned to the Shenandoah Valley for the 160th Anniversary of Battle of Cedar Creek during we which we had brilliant weather. In early November, we made our third appearance at Fort Totten in Queens for the Bayside Historical Society. And we closed out the seaseon with Remembrance Day in mid-November and the 7th Annual Civil War Christmas at St. John's Episcopal Church. Sadly, this year we lost another Comrade in Arms, Joe Fanuele. Fortunately, we had the chance to see him one last time when he visited us at our February meeting.
