Remembrance Day

Gettysburg, PA

November 18 - 20, 2016

We had an even twenty soujourn to Gettysburg for the annual Remembrance Day Parade. We began the weekend with an informally guided tour by one of our newer recruits, Private Ron Ottone, through Devil's Den, the Triangular Field, and Little Round Top. The weather that Friday was more like early June than mid-November. Remebrance Day started out well, too. We had mild temps and clear skies but when we finished our march in the mid-afternoon and had our lunch at the new Appalachian Brewing Company on Steinwehr, Winter slapped us right across the face. Freezing, high winds, ominous clouds, and we drove back to the hotel in sleet! We really dodged a bullet this year. For Saturday, most of us dined at the historic Cashtown Inn.
