John M. Flockton enlisted at 34 years of age at Fort Schuyler to serve three years. He originally mustered in as a musician, first class, on August 1, 1861. He mustered out on April 13, 1862 at Warwick Court, VA.
His son, John M. Flockton Jr. also joined the 67th at the age of 12. Enlisting October 14, 1861 in Poughkeepsie, John Jr. was mustered in to serve three years as a musician, third class.
