Charles Norton Beiseker enlisted at the age of 22 years on June 25, 1861, at South Brothers Island, to serve three years. Mustering in as a private in Co. F, August 31, 1861; transferred to Co. A, June 19, 1864; to Co. E, July 4, 1864; and finally mustered out, August 31, 1864, at Charlestown, Va. (Source: ANNUAL REPORT OF THE ADJUTANT-GENERAL OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK: For the Year 1901)
The following was supplied by a descendent on Civilwartalk.com: My great-great-great grandfather was Charles Norton Beiseker of Minnesota. If you can't tell by now, he was in the 67th New York Infantry Regiment, a volunteer unit. He was in Company F from 9-31-1861 until 6-19-1864 when he joined Co. A, then lastly he went to Co. E 7-4-1964, and mustered out in 9-31-1864. He was a private. After the war he lived in Austin, MN where he was a commander of GAR post 66 'Mcintyre'. He supposedly fought at Gettysburg, according to family.
