161st Anniversary
Battle of Cedar Creek

Middletown, VA

October 18 - 19, 2025

We returned to the Shenandoah Valley for an off-year reenactment of the Battle of Cedar Creek and lucked out once more with great weather. This time round, we had two new recruits or 'Fresh Fish' experience battle for the first time or 'Seeing the Elephant'. We fell in with our battalion, the Army of the Rappahannock, for battles on Saturday and Sunday. This was our very first time at this reenactment where the organizers placed Federal Camp right next to the Confederates by the Sutlers and common area. That certainly did cut down on commuting town for the bluebellies wishing to visit the Sutlers. High winds struck during Sunday's battle and we managed to skedaddle out by 3pm right before a line of storms rolled in.
