Remembrance Day

Gettysburg, PA

November 19 - 20, 2021

After two years, we returned in force to Gettysburg for Remembrance Day. Fortunately, the weather cooperated. Saturday morning we were joined by members of the 6th NY Independent Battery for our dual ceremonies at the monuments to the 67th NY and that of the 65th NY on Culp's Hill. As for the following parade, we were lucky enough to be placed near the head of the column and, after many years, the longer parade route was restored with a march along Middle Avenue. After the parade, we had lunch at 'the Hub', a rental space on the Baltimore Pike. For dinner we tried two new dining venues: the Hoof, Fin, & Fowl on Friday night and Hickory Bridge Farm on Saturday. Saturday evening we relaxed at the firepit of the Ski Liberty/Carroll Valley with music provided by our Max 'Lumpy' Rowland.
