9th Annual Civil War Weekend at the Grange

Sayville, NY

September 15 - 17, 2017

Number Nine was another dry one thanks to Mother Nature. With no funding, we returned to our DIY years and offered a stripped down yet entertaining and informative weekend for public and reenactor alike. Due to a scheduling conflict we were unable to host the 10th New York Cavalry however we had our usual partners including Co. H, 14th Brooklyn, the 9th Virginia, the 30th Virginia, and the Sons & and Daughters of Union Veterans. We also welcomed back our Sutler, the Florance Drum Company. We were unable to hire the 6th New York Independent Battery but we did have a new guest, Lee's Light Artillery from upsate New York who camped with the Confederates for this weekend and unexpectedly provided us with great live music. And for the second year, period photographer Mark C. Richards was busy all weekend creating tintypes. Local videographer Chris Lauterbach captured a great deal of our Saturday event on video that you can see below.
