Christmas at the Grange

Sayville, NY

December 16, 2015

Thanks to Chaplain George Munkenbeck of Co. H, 14th Brooklyn, we held our first 'Christmas as the Grange' since 2000 and just as then we invited friends both Yankee and Confederate alike to joins us. Part history lesson, part Christmas celebration, the Chaplain taught us the fascinating evolution of Christmas through the 19th century and then we took turn with readings from the Bible interspersed with songs such as 'Good Christian Men, Rejoice', 'O Come All Ye Faithful', 'Hark the Herald Angels Sing', and the finale, 'Joy to the World'. The resurrection of this event was long overdue.
