Remembrance Day

Gettysburg, PA

November 20 - 23, 2015

An even twenty of us traveled to Remembrance Day in Gettysburg this time around and once again the weather held out. Chaplain George Munkenbeck of Co. H, 14th Brooklyn delievered the speeches at our monument and that of the 65th NY on Culp's Hill for a second year. Prior to the parade, our battalion (the USV's) held a special ceremony at the brand new Unity Park dedicated to the musicians that served on both sides during the War. Several bands performed 'Firing by File' with each band taking turn, left to right, cranking out period music (as shown on the video). We also continued our new tradition of hiring licensed battlefield guides for tours on Friday (Devil's Den) and Sunday (the Wheatfield).
