Even in this forbidding terrain under a merciless sun,
infested with scorpions and rattlesnakes there are those crazy enough to don the woollens and teach the public.

A cursory Internet search yields photos of a reenactment of the Battle of Valverde
And there is a 1st New Mexico Volunteers reenacting regiment in existence.
