Veterans Day in Rocky Point

On 11/11/11, several members of the First Long Island joined the Rocky Point Historical Society & local VFW Hall in performing a short ceremony at a new Civil War monument installed by the Rocky Point Historical Society. Engraved in the plaque are the names of locals that fought in the War. The marker was commissioned to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War and sits next to a memorial for locals that fought during the Revolutionary War.
